JOHARI / ʄɔhari / Noun. Jewel, gem in Swahili

Johari Jewellery is a minimal, contemporary jewellery brand that directly pulls its inspiration for African culture, history and symbolism. 

We are proudly Black African and woman-owned, aiming to continue the beautiful African culture of creating and wearing symbolically significant jewellery and ornaments. 

Founded in 2021, Jolly started the brand after struggling to find well made, minimal jewellery pieces that spoke to her life in her homeland, Burundi. Homesick after spending multiple months in self isolation during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and miles away from home (in London), she set to make herself the ultimate reminder of home. And so the brand was born.

Johari Jewellery combines modern jewellery techniques, minimal design and Demi fine materials (precious metals excluding precious stones) with a hint of inspiration from the motherland to design dainty, durable and reliable pieces.
